Sony has a Press Event at 10am ET today when they are expected to announce two new APS-C cameras.
However, the camera news site Nokishita has already leaked product brochures for the new Sony a6100 and a6600 cameras that also include details of two new APS-C lenses.

Here’s a look at the basic specs of the new cameras and how they stack up against the very popular Sony a6400.

If you already own the a6400 then you’ll see that the new a6600 basically adds IBIS, Real-Time Eye AF for movies, a headphone jack, and the new Z battery, and it weights 100g more.

Sony’s first 16-55 mm (24-82.5 mm full-frame equiv.) APS-C zoom with a constant F2.8 aperture is remarkably compact while offering performance befitting the G Lens series. A new optical design delivers excellent corner-to-corner resolution, and beautiful bokeh is available when needed. It is compact, lightweight, and ideal for a wide range of subjects.

Optimised optical and mechanical design offers outstanding super-telephoto zoom performance for APS-C bodies (105-525mm equiv.). Impressive G Lens quality is maintained throughout the zoom range, right out to the image edges. All of this is packed into a compact, mobile 5x super-telephoto zoom lens with built-in optical image stabilisation.
Of course these are leaked details so please take them with a pinch of salt until the official announcement later today.
Personally the a6600 doesn’t really excite me very much but I’m definitely very interested in the new E 70-350mm lens, I think this will make a great lightweight combo together with my a6400.
Would be great to hear your thoughts below.
Pity the E 70-350 doesn’t cover Full Frame as well as my A7M3 would like one.
Hey Rupert. Well there is the FE 70-300 F4.5-5.6 G OSS lens already, of course the extra 50mm would be nice especially on full-frame.
